The remarks in paragraphs 12 extent of the work carried out by the Anti-Piracy patrol off Hong Kong and how much this work is increased by failure of merchant ships to report their position in accordance with the W/T Communication schemes. The Commodore is representing these facts to the Shipping Companies concerned, and it is hoped that before long all merchant ships will realise the importance of reporting at the correct times.

It is interesting to note that in the months of January and February 1935, the Anti-piracy patrols steamed over 6000 miles and used 1145 tons of oil fuel, whilst in 1934 the total consumption of fuel for the year for this purpose was 4311 tons.
